開館和平紀念物
※館名石：1997年2月28日開館時設立，以立足臺灣寶島，與玉山齊高之姿，期許紀念館能撫慰家屬、追尋真相，並促進族群和解共生、和平發展。
※植樹紀念：1998年4月7日，由時任臺北市政府市長陳水扁先生、臺北市政府民政局局長李逸洋先生、鄭南榕先生遺孀葉菊蘭立法委員及台北二二八紀念館館長葉博文先生等人共同在此種下榕樹，以此紀念鄭南榕先生逝世10周年。
The 228 Peace Memorial Monument
※ The stone in name of 228 Museum：
It was erected on February 28th, 1997,which is as sublime as Yu-Shan Mountain, We hope the 228 Memorial Museum can commemorate the victims’ families, to trace the truth behind the event, and to promote the ethnic coexistence, symbiosis, and the peaceful development.
※ Banyan tree planted for commemoration：
On April 7th, 1998, Chen Shui-bian,the Former Taipei City Mayor, Li Yi-yang, Director of the Civil Affairs Bureau of the Taipei City, Legislator Yeh Chu-lan, Mr. Nylon Zheng's widow, and Ye Bo-wen, Curator of Taipei 228 Memorial Museum, They planted banyan tree here together to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the death of Mr. Nylon Zheng.
